Snakes on a Plane

So I was listening to NPR this morning while doing dishes and heard about this movie that is coming out entitled "Snakes on a Plane." As the Brits would say, brilliant. Apparently there has been quite a 'net buzz about this, and the producers actually went back and reshot some scenes because of what people were writing on the internet. I also read this (warning--some bad language)(mostly because I suddenly have free time in which to read random stuff online) and decided that I should also share the "snakes on a plane" mantra and perhaps adopt it into my own vocabulary.

My principal: We've decided to give you the worst kids in school!
Me: Snakes on a plane...

Share it with your friends and family. It's the best zen mantra there is. Because after all, if you are not safe from snakes on a plane, where ARE you safe from snakes?

Free at last, free at last

Thank God Almighty, I am free at last!

It wasn't nearly as big a relief as last year--I think because this year was just so much easier--but it still feels good to be done.

A smattering of my summer plans:
* Cleaning out/making my study functional. It is currently the dump of the condo, where we put everything that doesn't have a place and/or we don't know what to do with.
* Completing my wedding album (as soon as I get off my butt and order copies of a few more pictures)
* Redecorating our bedroom, mostly by painting walls and some furniture, but also removing borders, putting up crown and new baseboard molding, and replacing closet doors.
* Spending a day a week at school, organizing and moving stuff to my new (larger) room and getting the old room (which will become a dedicated science lab) in better shape.
* Taking three ballet classes a week to stay in shape.
* Going to Chicago before and after attending a wedding in Kentucky.
* Reading, reading, reading. Anything I can get my hands on.
* Taking a week-long seminar in August offered by my college on stem cells, taught by my favorite professor. Staying in beautiful Door County, WI, on the college's property, and eating the fabulous cuisine of Chef Steve during that week.
* Relaxing, renewing, and revitalizing. Those three Rs are so much more important than the other 3 during the summer!

Here's hoping your summer plans are shaping up to be just as beneficial for body, mind, and soul.
